Here’s an excerpt of a review I did of this record quite some time ago, before we posted sample tracks. This record would place in my top ten of 2005, and once you hear this, I’m sure you’ll have to get your hands on a copy for yourself. Highly recommended.
“As the opening credits begin, you hear the slow wailing strings of opener Under Control. Flashing visions of dingy labs and various chemicals, maps being studied, as the strings intensify a sleeve is rolled up, and with an injection the vocals erupt “I’m under control of a mighty force, keep slipping me through imaginary doors.” The multiple layers give you a strange feeling when piped through headphones, as if you have six ears and are hearing different things in each channel.”

Possibly one of the best choices of an obscure song for a band to cover was when I saw Incredible Moses Leroy cover this Gruppo Sportivo track, Beep Beep Love. It was their opening song when they took the stage and it’s also the opening track on their second record, Electric Pocket Radio (which I highly recommend for any pop fan.) So this “From The Vault” download is Holland’s Gruppo Sportivo’s original version… Beep Beep Love.
